Who We Are
BoutiqueBaobab is a vibrant, community-inspired shop offering quality gifts handmade in Senegal, West Africa. Founded by a young married couple with a deep love for people, culture, and meaningful connection, our business grew from a simple but powerful idea: to uplift Senegalese communities and support the incredibly talented artisans who bring these creations to life. Through local craftsmanship, we celebrate and share the richness of Senegalese culture—its colors, traditions, and stories—connecting people across cultures and continents. We partner directly with artisans in Senegal to support fair, sustainable livelihoods, and a portion of our proceeds is donated to charities in Dakar that serve children and teens living with disabilities. Guided by the values of humility, positivity, and Teranga—the Wolof word for generosity—we strive to create impact that is rooted in respect, shared growth, and community care.
Why BoutiqueBaobab
In Senegal, the baobab tree represents wisdom, community, and shared roots. The Wolof saying “Garab gu rey du sax ci benn bopp” reminds us that nothing grows strong on its own. BoutiqueBaobab grew out of real relationships—listening, learning, and working together across cultures. Each piece we share reflects that care, respect, and shared effort.
